हरिवंशपुराणे
मूकीभूय स्थितास्तावद्यावत्प्रद्युम्नदूरता । प्रत्यासने पुनका मूकमावं विमुञ्चति ॥२३६॥ सुतागमनवेलैतैनिमित्तैर्लक्ष्यता स्फुटैः । सीमंधरविभोर्वाक्यं मान्यथामस्त मानिता ॥२३७॥ आकर्ण्य नारदीयं तद्रुक्मिणी वचनं हितम् । श्रद्धाय प्रणतावोचदिति सा प्रस्तुतस्तनी ॥२३॥ बन्धुकार्यमिदं साधु वात्सल्योद्यतचेतसा । कृतं त्वयाद्य मे सद्यो भगवन्परदुष्करम् ॥२३॥ पुत्रशोकाग्निदग्धाहं निरालम्बा स्वया मुने । दत्वा साधारिता धीर ! नाथ ! हस्तावलम्बनम् ॥२४॥ प्रोक्तं सीमंधरेशेन सर्वज्ञेनेह यद्यथा । तत्तथास्ति ममावश्यं जीवन्त्याः पुत्रदर्शनम् ॥२४१॥ जीवामि जिनवाक्येन कठिनोभूतमानसा । व्रज त्वमधुना स्वेच्छं पुनदर्शनमस्तु ते ॥२४॥ सप्रणाममिति प्रोक्तो दत्ताशीनारदो ययौ । मुक्तशोका हरेरिच्छां पूरयन्तीव सा स्थिता ॥२४३॥
द्रुतविलम्बितवृत्तम् 'मनुजदेवनरामरमर्त्यजं विबुधजं च शिवाभ्युदयावहम् । मदनशम्बपुराचरितं जनश्वरतु भक्तिमना जिनशासने ॥२४॥ इत्यरिष्टनेमिपुराणसंग्रहे हरिवंशे जिनसेनाचार्यकृतो शम्ब प्रद्युम्नवर्णनो नाम
त्रिचत्वारिंशः सर्गः ॥४३॥
असमय में ही अंकुर और पल्लवोंको धारण करने लगेगा ॥२३५।। तेरे यहाँ जो गूगे हैं वे तभी तक गूंगे रहेंगे जबतक कि प्रद्युम्न दूर है। उसके निकट आते ही वे गूंगापन छोड़ देवेंगे ॥२३६।। इन प्रकट हुए लक्षणोंसे तू पुत्रके आगमन का समय जान लेना। सीमन्धर भगवान्के वचनोंको अन्यथा मत मान ।।२३७।। इस प्रकार नारदके हितकारी वचन सुन रुक्मिणीके स्तनोंसे दूध झरने लगा। वह श्रद्धापूर्वक प्रणाम कर इस प्रकार कहने लगी कि हे भगवन् ! वात्सल्य प्रकट करने में जिनका चित सदा उद्यत रहता है ऐसे आपने आज यह मेरा उत्तम बन्धुजनोंका ऐसा कार्य किया है जो दूसरोंके लिए सर्वथा दुष्कर है ।।२३८-२३९॥ हे मुने ! हे धीर! हे नाथ ! मैं पुत्रको शोकाग्निमें निराधार जल रही थी सो आपने हाथका सहारा दे मुझे बचा लिया है ।।२४०।। सीमन्धर भगवान्ने जो कहा है वह वैसा ही है और मुझे विश्वास हो गया है कि मेरे जोते रहते अवश्य ही पुत्रका दर्शन होगा ॥२४१।मैं अपना हृदय कठोर कर जिनेन्द्र भगवान्के कहे अनुसार जीवित रहूंगी। अब आप इच्छानुसार जाइए और मुझे आपका दर्शन फिर भी प्राप्त हो इस बातका ध्यान रखिए ॥२४२।। इस प्रकार नारदसे निवेदन कर रुक्मिणीने उन्हें प्रणाम किया और नारद आशीर्वाद देकर चले गये। तदनन्तर रुक्मिणी शोक छोड़ श्रीकृष्णकी इच्छाको पूर्ण करती हुई पूर्वको भांति रहने लगी ।।२४३।।
__ इस सर्गमें कुमार प्रद्युम्न और शम्बके पूर्वभवोंका चरित लिखा गया है जिसमें उनके मनुष्यसे देव, देवसे मनुष्य, मनुष्यसे देव, देवसे मनुष्य, पुनः मनुष्यसे देव और देवसे मनुष्य तकका चरित बताया गया है तथा यह भी बताया गया है कि ये दोनों अन्तमें मोक्षके अभ्युदयको प्राप्त करेंगे इसलिए जिनशासनमें भक्ति रखनेवाले भव्यजन इस चरितका अच्छी तरह आचरण करेंध्यानसे इसे पढ़ें-सुनें ॥२४४॥
इस प्रकार अरिष्टनेमि पुराणके संग्रहसे युक्त, जिनसेनाचार्य रचित हरिवंशपुराणमें शम्ब
__ और प्रद्युम्नका वर्णन करनेवाला तैंतालीसवाँ सर्ग समाप्त हुआ ॥४३।।
१. विप्रपुत्रौ, सौधर्मे देवी, श्रेष्ठिनो मणिभद्रपूर्णभद्रो पुत्रौ, पुनः सौधर्मे देवी, मधुकैटभी, अच्युते देवो ततः प्रद्युम्नशम्बकुमारो-(ग. टि.)।

Thus, Rukmini bowed to Narada and said this. Narada, giving his blessings, departed. After that, Rukmini, leaving behind her grief, remained as before, fulfilling the desire of Shri Krishna. ||243||
This chapter describes the previous lives of Kumar Pradyumna and Shambha, in which their lives as humans, gods, gods as humans, humans as gods, gods as humans, and again humans as gods and gods as humans are described. It also tells us that both of them will ultimately attain the liberation of moksha.
