हरिवंशपुराणे अनादौ भवकान्तारे महामोहान्धकारिते । भ्रमतो मे मुने! जातो बन्धुस्त्वं मार्गदर्शनः ॥१३३॥ प्रसीद भगवन् ! दीक्षां देहि दैगम्बरीमिति । प्रसाद्य गुरुमासाद्य जग्राहानुमतां सताम् ॥१३४॥ चरितं तस्य विप्रस्य श्रुत्वा दृष्ट्वा च तादृशम् । श्रामण्यं केचिदापन्नाः केचित् श्रावकतां पराम् ॥१३५॥ तावग्निवायुभूती तु विलक्षौ लोकगर्हितौ । स्वनिकेतं पुनर्याती पितृभ्यामपि निन्दितौ ॥१३६॥ कायोत्सर्गस्थितं रात्रौ मुनिमेकान्तवर्तिनम् । जिघांसू खड्गहस्तौ तौ यक्षेण स्तम्भितौ स्थितौ ॥३०॥ प्रभाते च जनो दृष्ट्वा तौ यतेः पार्श्वयोः स्थितौ। निनिन्द निन्दिताचारौ तावेतौ पातकाविति ॥१३॥ तावचिन्तयतां साधोः प्रमावोऽयमहो महान् । आवामयत्नतो येन स्तम्मिती स्तम्भतां गतौ ॥१३९॥ कथंचिद् यदि मोक्षः स्यादस्माकं कृच्छुतोऽमुतः । जिनधर्म प्रपत्स्यामो दृष्टसामर्थ्यमित्यपि ॥१४॥ तावत्तद्व्यसनं कृत्वा पितरौ शीघ्रमागतौ । पादलग्नौ मुनिं तं तौ प्रसादयितुमुद्यतौ ॥१४१॥ करुणावानसौ योगी योगं संहृत्य सुस्थितः । क्षेत्रपाल कृतं ज्ञात्वा तमाह विनयस्थितम् ॥ ५४२॥ क्षम्यतां यक्ष ! दोषोऽयमनयोरनयोद्भवः । कर्मप्रेरितयोः प्रायः कुरु कारुण्यमङ्गि नोः ॥१४३॥ इत्यासाद्य मुनेराज्ञां राज्ञामिव नियोगतः । यथाज्ञापयसीत्युक्त्वा विससर्ज स तौ तदा ॥१४॥
है ।।१३२।। महामोहरूपी अन्धकारसे व्याप्त इस अनादि संसार-अटवीमें भ्रमण करते हुए मुझे आपने सच्चा मार्ग दिखलाया है इसलिए हे मुनिराज! आप ही मेरे बन्धु हैं ॥१३३।। हे भगवन् ! प्रसन्न होइए और मुझे दैगम्बरी दीक्षा दीजिए !' इस प्रकार गुरुको प्रसन्न कर तथा उनके निकट आ उस गूगे ब्राह्मणने सत्पुरुषोंके लिए इष्ट दैगम्बरी दीक्षा धारण कर ली ।।१३४|| उस ब्राह्मणका पूर्वोक्त चरित सुनकर तथा देखकर कितने ही लोग मुनिपदको प्राप्त हो गये और कितने ही श्रावक अवस्थाको प्राप्त हुए ॥१३५।।।
अग्निभूति और वायुभूति अपने पूर्वभव सुन बड़े लज्जित हुए। लोगोंने भी उन्हें बुरा कहा इसलिए वे चुप-चाप अपने घर चले गये। वहां माता-पिताने भी उनकी निन्दा की ॥१३६।। रात्रिके समय सात्यकि मुनिराज कहीं एकान्तमें कायोत्सर्ग मुद्रासे स्थित थे सो उन्हें अग्निभूति और वायुभूति तलवार हाथमें ले मारना ही चाहते थे कि यक्षने उन्हें कोल दिया जिससे वे तलवार उभारे हुए ज्योंके-त्यों खड़े रह गये ॥१३७॥ प्रातःकाल होनेपर लोगोंने मुनिराजके पास खड़े हुए उन दोनोंको देखा और 'ये वही निन्दित कार्यके करनेवाले पापी ब्राह्मण हैं' इस प्रकार कहकर उनकी निन्दा की ।।१३८॥ अग्निभूति, वायुभूति सोचने लगे कि देखो, मुनिराजका यह कितना भारी प्रभाव है कि जिनके द्वारा अनायास ही कोले जाकर हम दोनों खम्भे-जैसी दशाको प्राप्त हुए हैं ॥१३९।। उन्होंने मनमें यह भी संकल्प किया कि यदि किसी तरह इस कष्टसे हम लोगोंका छुटकारा होता है तो हम अवश्य ही जिनधर्म धारण करेंगे क्योंकि उसकी सामर्थ्य हम इस तरह प्रत्यक्ष देख चुके हैं ॥१४०॥
उसी समय उनका कष्ट सुन उनके माता-पिता शीघ्र दौड़े आये और मुनिराजके चरणोंमें गिरकर उन्हें प्रसन्न करनेका उद्यम करने लगे ॥१४१॥ करुणाके धारक मुनिराज अपना योग समाप्त कर जब विराजमान हुए तब उन्होंने यह सब क्षेत्रपालके द्वारा किया जान विनयपूर्वक बैठे क्षेत्रपालसे कहा कि-'यक्ष ! यह इनका अनीतिसे उत्पन्न दोष क्षमा कर दिया जाये। कर्मसे प्रेरित इन दोनों प्राणियोंपर दया करो' ॥१४२-१४३॥ इस प्रकार राजाओंको आज्ञाके समान मुनिराजकी आज्ञा प्राप्त कर 'जैसी आपकी आज्ञा हो' यह कह क्षेत्रपालने दोनोंको छोड़ दिया ॥१४४॥

At night, Satyaki Muni was sitting in a secluded place in the Kayotsarga posture. Agnibhuiti and Vayubhuiti, with swords in their hands, wanted to kill him, but the Yaksha held them fast, so they stood there with their swords raised. ||137||
In the morning, people saw them standing near the Muni and condemned them, saying, "These are the wicked Brahmins who have committed sinful deeds." ||138||
Agnibhuiti and Vayubhuiti thought, "Look at the great influence of the Muni! By his power, we have been involuntarily held fast and have become like pillars." ||139||
They also resolved in their minds, "If we are somehow freed from this suffering, we will surely embrace the Jain Dharma, for we have seen its power firsthand." ||140||
At that time, hearing of their suffering, their parents rushed to the Muni and fell at his feet, trying to please him. ||141||
The compassionate Muni, having completed his yoga, sat down and, knowing that this was done by the Kshetrapal, said to him with humility, "O Yaksha! Forgive them for their wrongdoing, which arose from their own actions. Be merciful to these two beings who are driven by their karma." ||142-143||
Thus, having received the command of the Muni, like a king's command, the Kshetrapal said, "As you command," and released them. ||144||
