बहुत्रिदशपङ्क्तिभिः प्रमदपूरिताभिर्नभः स्फरन्मणिगणोज्ज्वलस्कलशपाणिभिः सर्वतः । सुमेरुगिरिपञ्चमाम्बुनिधिमध्यमध्यासितं रराज बहुरज्जुमिस्तदिव नीयमानं तदा ॥४९॥ गृहाण कलशं लघु क्षिप नयाशु संधारय प्रभु च मम संमुखं त्वमिति कर्णरम्यारवैः करास्करमितस्ततः सुरगणस्य कुम्भावली श्रिया श्रयति पाण्डुकं वनमिवोरुहंसावलो ॥५०॥ 'सुवर्णमणिरत्नरौप्यमयकुम्भकाल्यो बभुः प्रवेगमरुतां वशा रविशशाङ्कमाला यथा । सुपक्षपुटदीप्तिभिः खचितदिङमुखाः खे रयोत्पतद्गरुडहंसपङ्क्तय इव ययानेकशः ॥५१॥ शताध्वरभुजोतैलधरैरिवोद्गजितैः सहस्रगणनैर्घटैः शुचिपयोभिरावर्जितैः । जिनोऽभिषमाप्नुवन् धवलमदिराज व्यधाद्दधाति धवलात्मतामधवलो हि शुद्धाश्रयात् ॥५२॥ सतोपमपरेऽपि ते निखिलकल्पनाथादयो यथेष्टमभिषेचनं विदधुरम्बुभिनिर्मलैः । जिनस्य जिनशासनाधिगमशस्तरागोदयाः प्रकाशिततनूरुहास्तनुतरात्मजन्माब्धयः ॥५३॥ ततः सुरपतिस्त्रियो जिनमुपेत्य शच्यादयः सुगन्धितनुपूर्व कैमृदुकराः समुद्वर्तनम् । प्रचक्ररभिषेचनं शुभपयोभिरुच्चैघंटैः पयोधरमरैनिजैरिव समं समार्जितैः ॥५४॥
थो तब अनेक शरीरोंको धारण करनेवाले इन्द्रने देवोंके साथ भक्तिपूर्वक, देवोंके द्वारा लाये हुए, मणिमय और सुवर्णमय कुम्भोंसे च्युत, अत्यन्त सुगन्धित क्षीरसागरके शुभ जलसे जिनेन्द्र भगवान्का स्वयं महाभिषेक करना शुरू किया ।।४५-४८|| उस समय सुमेरु पर्वत और क्षीरसागरके मध्य आकाशमें, हर्षसे भरी एवं देदीप्यमान मणियोंके समूहसे उज्ज्वल कलश हाथमें लिये देवोंकी पंक्तियां सब ओर खड़ी थीं उनसे उस समय वह आकाश ऐसा जान पड़ता था मानो बहुत-सी रस्सियोंसे बांधकर कहीं ले जाया जा रहा हो ।।४९।। उस समय वहाँ 'कलश लो, जल्दी दो, और तुम भगवान्को शीघ्र ही मेरे सम्मुख धारण करो' इस प्रकार कानोंके लिए प्रिय शब्द हो रहे थे। तथा वह कलशोंकी पंक्ति देव-समूहके एक हाथसे दूसरे हाथमें जाती हुई शोभापूर्वक पाण्डुक वनमें ऐसी प्रवेश कर रही थी मानो बड़े-बड़े हंसोंकी पंक्ति ही प्रवेश कर रही हो ।।५०॥ आकाशमें वेगशाली देवोंके वशीभूत (हाथोंमें स्थित ) सुवर्ण, मणि, रत्न और चांदीसे निर्मित कलशोंकी पंक्तियां आकाशमें ऐसी सुशोभित हो रही थीं मानो सुन्दर पंखोंकी कान्तिसे दिशाओंको व्याप्त करती हुई वेगसे उड़नेवाले गरुड़ और हूंसोंको अनेक पंक्तियां हो हों ।।५१।। इन्द्रकी भुजाओंके द्वारा उठाये हुए, मेघोंके समान गर्जना करनेवाले एवं उज्ज्वल जलसे भरे हुए हजार कलशोंसे अभिषेकको प्राप्त होनेवाले भगवान्ने मेरुपर्वतको सफेद कर दिया सो ठीक ही है क्योंकि शुद्ध पदार्थके आश्रयसे अशुद्ध भी शुद्धताको प्राप्त हो जाता है। भावार्थ-भगवान्के अभिषेक जलसे मेरु पर्वत सफेद-सफेद दिखने लगा ||५२।।
जिनशासनकी प्राप्तिसे जिनके प्रशस्त रागका उदय हो रहा था, जिनके शरीरमें रोमांच प्रकट हुए थे और जिनका संसाररूपी सागर अत्यन्त अल्प रह गया था ऐसे अन्य समस्त स्वर्गोंके इन्द्रोंने भी बड़े सन्तोषके साथ इच्छानुसार निर्मल जलसे जिनेन्द्र भगवान्का अभिषेक किया था ॥५३।। तदनन्तर कोमल हाथोंको धारण करनेवाली शची आदि इन्द्राणियोंने आकर सुगन्धित द्रव्योंसे भगवान्को उद्वर्तन-उबटन किया और अपने ही स्तनोंके समान सुशोभित एक साथ उठाये हुए, शुभ जलसे परिपूर्ण कलशोंके द्वारा उनका अभिषेक किया ॥५४॥

"Take the pitcher, quickly, bring it, and hold it before the Lord!" The celestial beings, their voices melodious, passed the pitchers from hand to hand, their procession resembling a flock of swans gracefully entering the Panduka forest. **50**

Rows of pitchers, crafted from gold, gems, and silver, moved with the swiftness of the wind, like a garland of the sun and moon. The celestial beings, their faces turned towards the sky, were adorned with radiant wings, resembling countless flocks of Garuda and swans soaring through the heavens. **51**

With thousands of pitchers, filled with pure water, raised by the arms of Indra, like thunderous clouds, the Tirthankara received the abhisheka, turning Mount Meru white. This is fitting, for even the impure can attain purity through the touch of the pure. **52**

All the celestial kings, like Indra, and others, whose hearts were filled with the joy of attaining the Jain teachings, whose bodies trembled with devotion, and whose oceans of worldly existence had dwindled, performed the abhisheka with pure water, fulfilling their desires. **53**

Then, the celestial queens, led by Sachi, approached the Tirthankara, their hands soft and fragrant, and performed the udvartana (a cleansing ritual) with fragrant substances. They then performed the abhisheka with pitchers filled with auspicious water, their hands resembling the beautiful breasts of celestial beings. **54**
