प्रपूर्णितोत्तङ्गतरङ्गमङ्गरं प्रवालमुकामणिपुष्पशोमितम् । महार्णवं फेनिल मुन्दनं भ्रमद्विभीषणग्राहगृहं निरैक्षत ॥१६॥ नखानदंष्ट्रादृढदृष्टिमासुरज्वलत्सटाटोपयगेन्द्रधारितम् । मणिप्रभारक्षितदिग्वधु मखं ददर्श सिंहासनमासनं श्रियः ॥१॥ विचित्रमति ध्वजकोटिसंचलं सुवैजयन्तीभुजमालयानरत् । प्रलम्बमुकामणिमालिकोज्ज्वलं विमानमालोकि तया नमस्तले ॥१८॥ 'फणामणिद्योतविभिन्नभूतमःफर्णन्द्रकन्याकलगोर संकुलम् । ज्वलन्मणि क्षि भवः समुद्गतं फणीन्द्रभास्वद्भवनं महत्तया ॥१०॥ सपद्मरागोज्ज्वलवज्रपूर्वकं प्रकृष्टमाणिक्यमहाशिवाकुलम् । व्यलोकतेन्द्रायुधरुद्धदिङ्मुखं सुरत्नराशिं गगन स्पृशं शिवा ॥२०॥ शिखाकरालं शिखिनं मुखं दिशा प्रकाशयन्तं शुचिशोचिषा निशि । ददर्श संदर्शितसौम्यविग्रहं सविग्रहा श्रीरिव तोषपोपिणी ॥२१॥ अनन्तरं स्वप्नगणस्य कम्पयन् सुरासनान्याविशदम्बिकाननम् ।
सितमरूपो भगवान् दिवश्च्युतः प्रकाशयन् कार्तिक शुक्लषष्टिकाम् ॥२६॥ मनके समान पवित्र एवं निर्मल था ॥१५।। ग्यारहवें स्वप्न में एक ऐसा महासागर देखा जो उठती हई ऊंची-ऊंची लहरोंसे भंगुर था, मूंगा, मोती, मणि और पुष्पोंसे सुशोभित था, फेनसे युक्त था, उद्धत था, तथा घूमते हुए भयंकर मगरमच्छोंका घर था ।।१६।। बारहवें स्वप्नमें लक्ष्मीका आसनभूत एक ऐसा सिंहासन देखा जिसे नखोंके अग्रभाग एवं डाँढोंसे मजबूत, दृष्टिसे देदीप्यमान और चमकती हुई सटाओंसे युक्त सिंह धारण किये हुए थे तथा मणियोंकी कान्तिसे जिसने दिशारूप स्त्रियोंके मुखको रक्त वर्ण कर दिया था |१७|| तेरहवें स्वप्न में उसने आकाशतलमें ऐसा विमान देखा जो नाना प्रकारके बेल-बटोंसे यक्त था. ध्वजाओं के अग्रभागसे चंचल था. उत्तम पताकारूपी भुजाओंको मालासे जो नृत्य करता हुआ-सा जान पड़ता था, और जो लटकतो हुई मोतियों और मणियोंकी गालाओंसे उज्ज्वल था !|१८|| चौदहवें स्वप्नमें उसने नागेन्द्रका एक ऐसा विशाल देदीप्यमान भवन देखा जो फणाओंपर स्थित मणियोंके प्रकाशसे पृथिवीके अन्धकारको नष्ट करनेवाली नागकन्याओंके मधुर संगीतसे व्याप्त था, देदीप्यमान मणियोंसे जगमगा रहा था और पृथिवीसे ऊपर प्रकट हुआ था ।।१९।। पन्द्रहवें स्वप्न में शिवा देवीने उत्तम रत्नोंकी एक ऐसी राशि देखी जो पद्मरागमणि तथा चमकते हुए हीरोंके सहित थी, उत्तमोत्तम मणियोंकी बड़ी-बड़ी शिखाओंसे व्याप्त थी, इन्द्र-धनुषसे दिशाओंके अग्रभागको रोकनेवाली थी, तथा आकाशका स्पर्श कर रही थी ।।२०।। और शरीरधारिणी लक्ष्मीके समान सन्तोषको पुष्ट करनेवाली शिवा देवीने सोलहवें स्वप्न में ऐसी अग्नि देखी जो शिखाओंसे भयंकर थो, रात्रिके समय अपनी उज्ज्वल किरणोंसे दिशाओंके अग्रभागको प्रकाशित कर रही थी तथा अपना सौम्य रूप दिखला रही थी॥२२॥ इस प्रकार स्वप्न दर्शन के बाद कार्तिक शुक्ला षष्ठोके दिन देवोंके आसनोंको कम्पित करते हुए भगवान्ने स्वर्गसे च्युत हो सफेद हाथीका रूप धरकर माताके मुख में प्रवेश किया। भावार्थआनुपूर्वी नामकर्मके उदयसे भगवान्के आत्म-प्रदेशोंका आकार तो पूर्व शरीरके समान ही रहता है। यहां जो 'सफेद हाथीका रूप धरकर' कहा गया है उसका तात्पर्य यह है कि माताने सोलह स्वप्न देखने के बाद देखा था कि एक सफेद हाथी आकाशसे उतरकर हमारे मुखमें प्रविष्ट हुआ १. द्विज-(?) म. । २. फणामणीनां द्योतेन विभिन्नं भूतमो याभिः तथाभूता या फणीन्द्रकन्यास्तासां कलं मधुरं यद् गीतं तेन संकुलम् । ३. शुभा म.। ४. शुचिरोचिषां म. ।

22. Then, on the sixth day of the bright fortnight of Kartik, shaking the seats of the gods, the Lord descended from heaven, taking the form of a white elephant, and entered the mother's womb.
