अथ गगनसमुद्र मोदरङ्गत्तरङ्गे त्वरितगतिरनूनामुद्वहन्मीनलीलाम् । खचरनृपतिदूतोऽलोकि लोकैः समस्तैः स्फुरितमणिविभूषो माथुरैरुन्मुखाब्जैः ॥५३॥ तनुविशददुकूलश्चन्दना कृताङ्गः स्फुट इव कलहंसो मानसस्तानसेवी। सुरसरितमिवाप्तो माथुरी सोऽथ रथ्यां दिशि दिशि धृतशोभा संचरद्राजहंसैः ॥५४॥ परिषदमथ दत्तद्वारपालप्रवेशो यदुभिरवहितात्मा भूषितां संप्रविश्य । कृतविनतिनिषण्णो विष्णुमूचेऽरिजिष्णुं प्रभुमवसरवेदी यादवानां समक्षम् ॥५५॥ शृणुत विनुत राजा राजतादौ सुकेतुर्नमिविनमिकुलश्रीवैजयन्तीसुकेतुः । अधिवसति रथं यो नूपुरं चक्रवालं पुरमिह नयदक्षो दक्षिणश्रेण्यधिष्ठम् ॥५६॥ जलजशयनचापैस्त्वां परीक्ष्यामुनाहं तव निकटमिहाशु-प्रेषितः प्रेमपूर्वम् । भज वरदवृतस्त्वं सत्यभामावरवं खचरभुवनभूत्यै सर्वकल्याणमूलम् ॥५॥ सकलयदुमनोज्ञं दूतवाक्यं निशम्य प्रतिवचनमुपेन्द्रोऽदादिति प्रीतचित्तः । 'खगधनपतिसृष्टा रत्नशैले मयि द्राक निपततु वसुधारा सत्यभामाभिधाना ॥५८॥
कुपित हो रहा था एवं आसुओंसे जिसका गला रुंधा हुआ था ऐसी जीवद्यशा अपने पिता जरासन्धके पास पहुंची ॥५२॥
अथानन्तर किसी समय ऊपरकी ओर मुख कमल किये हुए मथुरा निवासी समस्त लोगोंने आकाशमें विद्याधरोंके राजा सुकेतुका दूत देखा। वह दूत हर्षसे लहराते हुए आकाशरूपी समुद्र में बड़े वेगसे आ रहा था, मच्छको उत्कट लीलाको धारण कर रहा था, और देदीप्यमान मणियोंके आभूषणोंसे युक्त था ।।५३।। उसका शरीर चन्दनसे आर्द्र था तथा वह महीन और श्वेत वस्त्र पहने था इसलिए मानसरोवर में स्नान करनेवाले हंसके समान जान पड़ता था। वह शीघ्र ही प्रत्येक दिशाओंमें विचरण करनेवाले श्रेष्ठ राजाओं (पक्षमें राजहंस पक्षियों) से गंगा नदीके समान सुशोभित मथुरा नगरीकी गलीमें आया ॥५४॥ तदनन्तर द्वारपालने जिसे प्रवेश दिया था ऐसा वह दूत, यादवोंसे सुशोभित सभामें सावधानोसे प्रविष्ट हो नमस्कार कर बैठ गया। फिर कुछ देर बाद अवसरको जाननेवाले उस दूतने यादवोंके समक्ष, शत्रुओंको जीतनेवाले कृष्णसे निम्नांकित वचन कहे ॥५५।। उसने कहा कि हे राजाओंके द्वारा स्तुत ! आप मेरी प्रार्थना सुनिए-विजयाध पर्वतके ऊपर एक सुकेतु नामका राजा है जो नमि और विनमिकी कुललक्ष्मीकी मानो विजय-पताका है, नीतिमें अत्यन्त चतुर है और दक्षिण श्रेणीमें स्थित रथनूपुरचक्रवाल नामक नगरमें रहता है ।।५६।। शंख फूकना, नागशय्यापर चढ़ना और धनुष चढ़ाना इन लक्षणों से आपकी परीक्षा कर उसने शीघ्र ही प्रेमपूर्वक मुझे यहाँ आपके पास भेजा है तथा कहलाया है कि यद्यपि आप उत्तमोत्तम वस्तुओंको प्रदान करनेवाले लोगोंसे घिरे रहते हैं तथापि मेरी एक तुच्छ प्रार्थना है वह यह कि आप मेरी पुत्री सत्यभामाको स्वीकृत कर लें। आपका यह कार्य विद्याधर लोकके वैभवको बढ़ानेवाला एवं समस्त कल्याणोंका मूल होगा ॥५७॥ समस्त यादवोंके लिए रुचिकर दूतके वचन सुनकर प्रसन्नचित्त कृष्णने यह उत्तर दिया कि विद्याधरोंके राजा सुकेतुरूपी कुबेरके द्वारा रची सत्यभामा नामक रत्नोंकी धारा मुझ रत्नाचलपर शीघ्र ही पड़े। भावार्थमुझे सत्यभामाका वर होना स्वीकृत है अथवा कुछ पुस्तकोंमें धनपतिके स्थानपर नगपति पाठ है इसलिए इस श्लोकका यह अर्थ भी होता है कि विद्याधररूपी विजयाध पर्वतके द्वारा रची सत्यभामारूपी जलकी धारा मुझ रत्नाचलपर शीघ्र ही पड़े ।।५८।।

Then, the messenger of the king of the celestial beings, adorned with sparkling jewels, with a face like a blooming lotus, swiftly traversed the sky, like a fish playing in the ocean, carrying the news of the celestial beings. ||53||

His body was fragrant with sandalwood, and he wore fine white clothes, resembling a swan bathing in the lake Manasarovar. He arrived in Mathura, a city adorned with the best of kings (like swans), like the river Ganga flowing in all directions. ||54||

Then, the messenger, welcomed by the gatekeepers, entered the assembly hall adorned with the Yadavas. He bowed down and addressed Krishna, the conqueror of enemies, the lord who knew the opportune moment, in the presence of the Yadavas. ||55||

"Hear, O king, praised by all kings! There is a king named Suketa, who is like the banner of victory for the lineage of Nami and Vinamika, who is very clever in politics, and who resides in the city of Ratnapura Chakravala, situated in the southern region." ||56||

"He has sent me to you, with love, to test you with the signs of blowing the conch, lying on a serpent bed, and stringing the bow. Although you are surrounded by those who give the best of things, I have a small request. Please accept my daughter, Satyabhāma. This act of yours will enhance the glory of the celestial realm and be the root of all good fortune." ||57||

Hearing the messenger's words, which were pleasing to all the Yadavas, Krishna, with a happy heart, replied, "Let the stream of jewels named Satyabhāma, created by the king of the celestial beings, Kubera, fall upon me, the mountain of jewels." ||58||
