चिरवियुतकनीयोदर्शनव्याजतस्तान् पृथुतरमथुरा तामागतान् यादवेन्द्रान् । अभिमुखमपशङ्कोऽवेत्य कंसः सशङ्को निभृतकृतनतिः प्रावेशयत्सानुजान् सः ॥१४॥ पुरु पुरगृहशोभादर्शनात्तृप्तनेत्रास्तदधिरतिनियुक्तावासकास्ते यथेष्टम् । प्रतिदिनमुपसेव्या दानमानप्रणामैः प्रणयमिव वहन्तस्तस्थुरन्तर्विदाहोः ॥१५॥ हलभृदवकृतार्थो मल्लयुद्धाभिलाषं वृषधवलविशेषोऽत्यन्तविज्ञो विधिस्सुः । अतिनिपुणमतिस्तां संनिधौ तस्य धीरो वदति लघु यशोदां स्नानमाकल्पयेति ॥१६॥ चिरयसि किमिति स्वं विस्मृतात्मीयदेहे न सकृदसकृदुक्ता न स्वभावं जहासि । न हि शुचिशुमशुक्त्युत्पादितोदारमुक्कामणिरतिभृतवेला चापलं स्वं जहाति ॥१७॥ इति सह चिरवासेऽप्युक्तपूर्वा न जातु ह्यतिचकितमया सा साश्रुनेत्रा निरुक्तिः । द्रुततरमुपकल्प्य स्नानमन्नप्रसिद्धय प्रकृतमकृत यत्नं स्नातुमेतौ नदी तौ ॥१८॥ अवददिति बलस्तं कृष्णमेकान्तवर्ती किमिति मुखमिदं ते दीर्घनिश्वाससास्रम् ।
हिमहतरुचिपनच्छायमच्छायमद्य प्रथयति पृथुमन्तस्तापमाचक्ष्व हेतुम् ॥१९॥ मदोन्मत्त हाथियोंसे युक्त अपनी सेनाओंके द्वारा पृथिवीतलको भूषित करते और अकस्मात् आगमनसे दुष्ट कंसके अहंकारपूर्ण हृदयको विदीर्ण करते हुए शीघ्र ही मथुराकी ओर चल पड़े ॥१३॥
यदुवंशी राजाओंको विशाल मथुरा नगरीको ओर आया देख यद्यपि कंस शंकासे युक्त हो गया था तथापि जब उसे यह बताया गया कि ये चिरकालसे वियुक्त छोटे भाई-वसुदेवको देखनेके लिए आये हैं तब उसने निःशंक हो सामने जाकर उनका स्वागत किया, उन्हें अच्छी तरह नमस्कार किया और छोटे भाइयोंसे सहित उन समस्त भाइयोंका नगरमें प्रवेश कराया ॥१४॥ विशाल मथुरा नगरीके घरोंकी शोभा देखनेसे जिनके नेत्र सन्तुष्ट हो गये थे तथा नगरीके अधिपति-कंसने जिन्हें उत्तमोत्तम भवन प्रदान किये थे, ऐसे वे सब यदुवंशी राजा मथुरा नगरीमें रहने लगे। कंस दान, मान तथा नमस्कारके द्वारा प्रतिदिन उनकी सेवा करता था। यद्यपि वे बाह्य में ऐसी चेष्टा दिखाते थे जैसे प्रेम ही धारण कर रहे हों तथापि अन्तरंगमें अत्यधिक दाह रखते थे ॥१५॥
तदनन्तर जिन्होंने समस्त कार्यका अच्छी तरह निश्चय कर लिया था, जिनके अवयव वृषभके समान सफेद थे, जो अत्यन्त विज्ञ थे, जिनकी बुद्धि अत्यन्त निपुण थी और जो कृष्णके हृदयमें यद्धकी अभिलाषा उत्पन्न करना चाहते थे ऐसे धीर-वीर बलभद्रने गोकल जाक सामने ही यशोदासे कहा कि जल्दी स्नान कर ।।१६।। क्यों इस तरह देर कर रही है, तू अपने शरीरकी सम्भालमें ही भूली हुई है, एक बार नहीं अनेक बार कहा फिर भी अपनी आदत नहीं छोड़ती। ठीक ही है उज्ज्वल एवं शुभ शुक्तियोंके द्वारा उत्तम मुक्तामणियोंको उत्पन्न करनेवाली समुद्रकी वेला अपनी चंचलता नहीं छोड़ती है। चिरकाल तक साथ-साथ रहनेपर भी बलभद्रने यशोदासे ऐसे कटुक वचन पहले कभी नहीं कहे थे इसलिए वह बहुत ही चकित तथा भयभीत हो गयो । यद्यपि उसने कहा कुछ नहीं फिर भी उसके नेत्रोंसे आंसू निकल आये। वह चुपचाप शीघ्र ही स्नान कर भोजन बनानेके लिए प्रकृत-अवसरानुकूल यत्न करने लगी। इधर कृष्ण और बलभद्र दोनों स्नान करनेके लिए नदी चले गये ।।१७-१८॥
