हरिवंशपुराणे अरिष्टनेमिनामाईन् भविता मरतावनी । हरिवंशमहावंशे त्वमितः पञ्चमे भवे ॥३८॥ आयुर्मासावशेषं ते सांप्रतं पथ्यमात्मनः । क्रियतामिति तावुक्त्वा तमापृच्छ्य गती यती ॥३९॥ श्रवणीयं वचः श्रत्वा चारणश्रमणस्य सः। प्रहृष्टोऽपि चिरं दध्यौ तपःकालव्यतिक्रमम् ॥४०॥ अष्टाहं प्रविधायासौ जिनेन्द्रमहमन्ततः । प्रीतिंकरे श्रियं न्यस्य शरीरादिषु निस्पृहः ॥४॥ स द्वाविंशस्यहोरात्रो प्रायोपगमनाञ्चितौ। आराध्यापाच्युतेन्द्रवं द्वाविंशत्यब्धिजीवितः ॥४२॥ च्युत्वा गजपुरे जज्ञे जिनेन्द्रमतमावितः । श्रीचन्द्रश्रीमतोसूनुः सुप्रतिष्ठः प्रतिष्ठितः ॥४३।। सुप्रतिष्ठं प्रतिष्ठाय राज्ये श्रीचन्द्रचन्द्रमाः । सुमन्दिरगरोरन्ते दीक्षित्वा मोक्षमाप्तवान् ॥४४|| श्रीचन्द्रात्मजराजोऽसौ दानं मासोपवासिने । यशोधराय दत्त्वाप वसुधारादिपञ्चकम् ॥४५॥ कार्तिक्यामन्यदा रात्रावष्टस्त्रीशतवेष्टितः । तिष्ट-पतनमुल्काया दृष्टया लक्ष्मी सुदृष्टये ॥४६॥ सुनन्दासूनवे दत्वा सुमन्दिरमहागुरोः । सुप्रतिष्ठोऽप्यदीक्षिष्ट दृष्ट्वोल्कासदृशीं श्रियम् ॥४७॥ चतुःसहस्रख्याताः सहस्रकिरणौजसः । प्रातिष्टन्त तपस्युप्रे सुप्रतिष्ठेन पार्थिवाः ॥४८॥ ज्ञानदर्शनचारित्रतपोवीर्यविवृद्धिमान् । अध्यैष्ट सोऽङ्गापूर्वाणि सरहस्यान्यतन्द्रितः ॥४९॥ तपोविधिविशेषः स सर्वतोभद्रपूर्वकैः । वपुर्विभूषयांचवे सिंहनिःक्रीडितोत्तरैः ।।५।।
श्रवणादपि पापघ्नानुपवासमहाविधीन् । शृणु यादव ! ते वच्मि समाधाय मनः क्षणम् ॥५१॥ यहाँ अपराजित राजा हुआ है सो उसे देखने के लिए हम दोनों आये हैं ।।३६-३७|| हे अपराजित ! तुम इससे पांचवें भवमें भरतक्षेत्रके हरिवंश नामक महावंशमें अरिष्टनेमि नामक तीर्थंकर होओगे ॥३८॥ इस समय तुम्हारी आयु एक माहकी शेष रह गयो है इसलिए आत्महित करो। यह कहकर तथा राजा अपराजितसे पूछकर दोनों मुनिराज विहार कर गये ॥ ३९ ॥ चारणऋद्धिधारी मुनिराजके श्रवण करने योग्य वचन सुनकर राजा अपराजित हर्षित होता हुआ भी चिरकाल तक इस बातको चिन्ता करता रहा कि अहो ! मेरा तप करनेका समय व्यर्थ ही निकल
। ४०॥ वह आठ दिन तक जिनेन्द्र भगवानको पजा करता रहा और अन्तमें प्रीतिकर नामक पुत्रके लिए राज्यलक्ष्मी सौंपकर शरीरादिसे निःस्पृह हो गया ॥४१॥ तत्पश्चात् प्रायोपगमन संन्याससे सुशोभित बाईस दिन रात तक चारों आराधनाओंकी आराधना कर वह अच्युत स्वर्गमें बाईस सागरको आयुका धारक इन्द्र पदको प्राप्त हुआ ।। ४२ ॥ वहांसे चयकर नागपुर में श्रीचन्द्र और श्रीमतीके सुप्रतिष्ठ नामका पुत्र हुआ। वह सुप्रतिष्ठ जिनेन्द्रमतकी भावनासे युक्त था ॥ ४३ ॥ राजा श्रीचन्द्ररूपी चन्द्रमा, सुप्रतिष्ठ पुत्रको राज्यसिंहासनपर प्रतिष्ठित कर सुमन्दिर नामक गुरुके पास दीक्षा ले मोक्ष चले गये ।। ४४ । एक दिन राजा सुप्रतिष्ठने मासोपवासी यशोधर मुनिराजके लिए दान देकर रत्नवीष्ट आदि पंचाश्चर्य प्राप्त किये ॥४५॥
कदाचित् राजा सुप्रतिष्ठ कातिककी पूर्णिमाकी रात्रिमें अपनी आठ सौ स्त्रियोंसे वेष्टित हो महलकी छतपर बैठा था। उसी समय आकाशसे उल्कापात हुआ। उसे देख वह राज्यलक्ष्मीको उल्काके समान ही क्षणभंगुर समझने लगा। इसलिए अपनी सुनन्दा रानीके पुत्र सुदृष्टिके लिए राज्यलक्ष्मी देकर उसने सुमन्दिर नामक महागुरुके समीप दीक्षा ले ली ।। ४६-४७।। राजा सुप्रतिष्ठके साथ, सूर्यके समान तेजस्वो चार हजार राजाओंने भी उग्र तप धारण किया था ॥४८॥ मुनिराज सुप्रतिष्ठने ज्ञान, दर्शन, चारित्र, तप और वीर्य की वृद्धिसे युक्त हो आलस्य छोड़ गूढार्थसहित ग्यारह अंग और चौदह पूर्वोका अध्ययन किया तथा सर्वतोभद्रको आदि लेकर सिंहनिष्क्रीडितपर्यन्त विशिष्ट तपोंसे अपने शरीरको विभूषित किया ।।४९-५०।। हे यादव ! श्रवण मात्रसे भी पापोंको नष्ट करनेवाली, उन उपवासोंको महाविधि, मैं तेरे लिए कहता हूँ सो तू क्षण-भरके लिए मन स्थिर कर सुन ॥५१॥ १. हितम् । २. महिमां ततः म.। ३. आराध्य आप अच्युतेन्द्रत्वम् इति पदच्छेदः ।

Along with King Supratishtha, four thousand kings, radiant like the sun, also undertook rigorous penance. ||48||
Muni Supratishtha, endowed with knowledge, vision, conduct, penance, and strength, studied the eleven Angas and fourteen Purvas, including the esoteric teachings, without any laziness. He adorned his body with various types of penance, starting with Sarvatobhadra and ending with Simhanishkridita. ||49-50||
O Yadava! Listen, with your mind focused for a moment, to the great rules of fasting, which destroy sins simply by hearing them. ||51||
