Hariwamsha Purana - Subject Matter
The subject matter is as follows:
1. The revelation of the inner feelings of Satyabhama and other queens, and the depiction of their past lives.
2. The description of King Padmanabha of Amarakankapuri in Dhatakirhanda, who reached near the divine voice of Lord Bhagavan.
3. The description of the renunciation of Gajkumar by King Padmanabha, and the rescue of the sleeping Draupadi by Lord Neminātha.
4. The anger of Lord Krishna towards the Pandavas, due to which they went to the shores of the southern ocean and settled there, leaving behind the daughter of the Brahmin Somasharma.
5. The description of the liberation of the Pandavas through the practice of Shukla-dhyana, despite the attack of fire by the angry Lord.
6. The celebration of the nirvana festival of Lord Neminātha in the assembly of Lord Krishna.
7. The description of the drowning of Dvaraka due to the curse of the sage, and the defeat of Lord Krishna by the power of Lord Neminātha.
8. The description of the tapasya and the miraculous origin of knowledge at the feet of Lord Neminātha.
9. The description of the divine assembly of Lord Neminātha.
