चम्पापरीमें गन्धर्वसेनाके साथ वसुदेव रह राजा श्रेणिकके प्रश्नके उत्तरमें गौतम गणधर रहे थे कि इसी बीचमें फाल्गुनका अष्टाह्निका सम्यग्दर्शनको विशुद्ध करनेवाली विष्णुकुमार
पर्व आ गया। वसुदेव गन्धर्वसेनाके साथ मुनिकी कथा कहने लगे । उज्जयिनीका राजा
वासुपूज्य स्वामी की प्रतिमाकी पूजाके लिए श्रीधर्मा नगरवासियोंको मनिवन्दनाके लिए
नगरके बाहर गये । बीच में नृत्य करनेवाली जाते देख मन्त्रियोंके साथ स्वयं गया।
एक मातंगकन्याकी ओर उनका आकर्षण मुनियोंका संघ उस समय ध्यानस्थ था, अतः बढ़ा परन्तु गन्धर्वसेनाकी प्रेरणासे सारथिने किसीने राजाको आशीर्वाद नहीं दिया । रथ आगे बढ़ा दिया। मन्दिरमें वसुदेवने बलि आदि मन्त्री मार्ग में मिले, एक मुनिको
वासुपूज्य भगवान्की पूजा और स्तुति की। शास्त्रार्थ के लिए छेड़ बैठे और हारकर लज्जित
घर वापस आनेपर गन्धर्वसेनाका प्रणय कोप हुए । रात्रिमें मुनियोंको मारने के लिए आये

एक समय वसुदेव एकान्त स्थानमें बैठा राजाने मन्त्रियोंको देशसे निकाल दिया २९८
था, उसी समय एक वृद्ध विद्याधरीने आकर हस्तिनापुरके महापद्म चक्रवर्ती और उनके
उन्हें आशीर्वाद दिया और विद्याओंके निकाय पुत्र विष्णुकुमारकी दीक्षाका वर्णन । बलि
तथा विजयाकी दोनों श्रेणियोंकी नगरियोंका आदि मन्त्री हस्तिनापुर जाकर राजा पद्मके

वसुदेवने 'तथास्तु' कहार स्वीकृति दी ३२२-३२७ मुनियोंका संघ हस्तिनापुर पहुँचा तो बलि
