For the details one may refer to the Gujarati introduction (prastāvanā). • This is the printed edition of the text of the Sthanangasūtra with Abhayadevasūri's Commentary, published by Agamodaya Samiti in 1918 A.D. and 1920 A. D. Many extremely corrupt readings are found in this edition; they are recorded in foot-notes in order to illustrate the extent to which the readings get corrupted; see for instance foot-note 2 on p. 387. To This is the printed edition of the text of the Sthåningasūtra with Abhayadevasūri's commentary, publised by Ray Dhanapatasimhaji, Calcutta, 1880 A. D. Occasionally we have consulted it. (See foot-note 10 on p. 319). In the preparation of the critical edition of the Sthånăngasūtra we have utilised those manuscripts also that contain Abhayadevasūri's Sthānangasūtraţikā. They are in all six, three palm-leaf manuscripts and three paper manuscripts. The description of the palm-leaf manuscripts is as follows: (1-2) JEO These are the two palm-leaf manuscripts belonging to the Jinabhadrasūri Jaina Jñāna Bhandara, Jesalmer. According to the catalogue, they bear Nos. 6 and 7 respectively. The manuscript bearing No. 6 contains the Stānangasūtravștti alone in folios 1-349. The size is 344" x 2". The manuscript bearing No. 7 has already been described. (3) S. This palm-leaf manuscript is preseved in the Sri Hemacandrācārya Jaina Jñāna Mandira, Patan. It consists of 1-368 folios. In the catalogue it is listed under No. 38. Its size is 31" x 11". The description of the three paper manuscripts is as follows: (1) A. This manuscript is preserved in the Sri Hemacandracārya Jaina Jāna Mandir, Patan. (2) H. This manuscript also belongs to the same manuscript library One may refer to the Gujarati introduction (prastāvanā) for the detailed description of these two manuscripts. . (3) B. Late Munirāja Sri Punyavijayaji has consulted this paper manuscript. We have simply noted down the readings he had collected from this manuscript. We do not know as to which Bhandara this manuscript belongs to. That is, we are not able to identify this manuscript. Now we proceed to describe the manuscripts utilised by us in auan.
