Chapter 4
In the third chapter, the descriptions of hell, humans, and animals were primarily discussed. Now, this chapter mainly describes the gods. First, it describes the types of gods:
There are four categories of gods. The term 'nikaya' means a certain group or class. There are four nikayas of gods: 1. Bhavanapati, 2. Vyantara, 3. Jyotiska, and 4. Vaimanik. [1] The third nikaya is described as follows:
The third: 1. According to the Digambara tradition, Bhavanapati, Vyantara, and Tishka are considered three in terms of the aspect of Krishna, hence the four maidens are considered. However, according to the Svetambara tradition, Bhavanapati and Vyantara are two nikayas.
