EDITORS' NOTE
At the end of this part one will find a list of corrections (śuddhipatraka). We request the scholars to read the text after having corrected it according to this list.
The discussion about places in old mss., where the important readings printed so far are found, is included in the 'Editors' Note' to the second part. There we have discussed a few readings of the Prajñāpanāsūtra, which have been changed by Munivara Shri Pushpabhikshu in his Suttāgame.
In the first volume, the Nandisutta and Anuogaddāraim, we have given the Nandisūtraviśesa (Editor's Note pp. 123–26).
But due to following reasons we have given up the idea of preparing Prajñāpanāsūtraviśeşa. First, the Jaina Āgama literature is full of passages similar to those found in the Prajñāpanāsūtra. Secondly, the work would have become too lengthy to handle and finish if we had noted down all those passages. Thirdly, it would have created a problem for us, because we were required to complete the work within a certain period of time. Time is really a factor which one cannot ignore. Hence, we request the scholars, who are interested in noting down such passages, to refer to various Agamic texts and to consult the experts in Agama learning.
The description of the Prajñāpanāsūtra, an account of the cultural data gathered from the Sūtra, etc. will be included in the introduction to the second part.
