In the text of Jyotiskarandaka, available in the manuscripts containing the text of Jyotiskarandaka alone alone without Prakrit Tippanaka, as also in the text of Jyotiskarandaka, given along with Vṛtti, the form of language has undergone change.
It is determined on the basis of the present publication that now the complete text of Jyotişkaraṇḍaka is available to us and its author is Ac Pädaliptasūri.
INTRODUCTION
Jyotiskarandaka-Tippanaka and its Author:
Though Sivanandi Vacaka has called this Tippanaka a Vṛtti at the end of the work, and following him Rev. Punyavijayaji, the editor of the present volume, has noted it as vrtti only in the Catalogue of Jesalmer Bhandāras, yet afterwards Punyavijayaji himself has accepted it as Tippanaka, finding its composition not conforming to the nature of vṛtti. At many places this Tippanaka contains such usages as may indicate the old form of language. Some of them are listed below:
