The most superficial retrospect of the lives, education and preparatory methods of discipline enforced upon the ancient Priesthood, invest that body with the true dignity of men in "holy orders"; but how do these compare with the careless, lax system, of mere book-learning which in our own time is deemed all sufficient to grind out a priest, the man who of all others should be bound by his sacred office to interpret the mysteries of being, way, who should be deemed unworthy of that office, so long as 'mysteries remain unsolved.
