________________ no excuse Let us not cheat ourselves... There are many ways to live cruelty-free lifestyle, but very often, whenever we try to do some changes in our lives, we always try to find several 'reasons' to stick to the old habits/traditions. Excuse How do we cultivate our mind against wrong excuses To start with-there may a little difference... but, it would save us from any guilt. What difference would it make if we start consuming less milk. Secondly, if we set an example, other people will follow. Good things always start with someone taking the first step. Just because everything cannot be done by a single person, it does not mean that nothing should be done. Culture and habits change as need arises and that is the basis of civilisation. It is our culturehabit since many generations and it is difficult to discontinue it. Non-vegetarian people also argue that they are doing it for centuries and it would be impossible to change their old ways. So, how do we respond to them? We need to try to change our habits and taste as now we are aware of the damage it has done and will do to other living beings. Need to change with times. The thinking man must oppose all cruel customs no matter how deeply rooted in tradition and surrounded by a halo. When we have a choice, we must avoid bringing torment and injury into the life of another, even the lowliest creature; to do so is to renounce our manhood and shoulder a guilt which nothing justifies. - Albert Schweitzer (philosopher, physician,) 39Page Navigation
