________________ The Self Realization Bhasyu nijasvarupa te, shuddha chetanarupa, Ajara, amara, avinashi ne, dehatita svarupa. 120 I knew my self as pure consciousness, Immortal, ever-lasting, strong, Above all body-states ageless or deathless Perpetual existence, no wrong. 120 As to the eternity of the Self, the disciple reveals that he experiences the Self as pure sentience, free from old age, death and destruction, for they are only the stages of the material living body and never of the Self. The Self is experienced as eternally identical, immortal and indestructible and quite distinct from the body. As we can feel a kernel separate from the shell of a dry coconut, the Self is now experienced by the disciple as quite separate from the living body. . कर्ता भोक्ता कर्मनो, विभाव वर्ते ज्यांय । वृत्ति वही निजभावमां, थयो अकर्ता त्यांय ॥१२१॥ Kartta bhokta karmano, vibhava varte jyaya, Vrutti vahi nijabhavama, thayo akartta tyaya. 121 In delusion one does the deeds, Receives the fruits, but non-doer He is, when sows the knowledge-seeds, And constantly remains the knower. 121 Under the effect of Self-delusive ignorance the Soul does actions and enjoys or suffers the fruits. But from the moment it truns all its attention to the Self and realizes it to be quite different from the living body it is liberated from the actions and then it neither acts nor enjoys or suffers the fruits thereof. अथवा निजपरिणाम chaaf dent जे, शुद्ध Arrency चेतनारूप Farbala । 1197711 87 Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
