This consists of all the physical constituents we can see, for example, planets, stars, mountains, solid and liquid matter, light etc. And those which we can not see are also included in Ajiv for example, mobile and non mobile phenomenon, gravity, gases, energy, sound, darkness, heat etc. It has been recently hypothesized that what matter we can see in the universe is only about 5 to 10 % of all the matter and we do not know the where about of the rest of the matter. On the other hand Jiv is the other component of the universe. Unlike Ajiv, Jiv is not a physical matter rather it is supreme form of consciousness, an energy or the life force which is invisible. This energy is different in different bodies. The nature of this ingredient is infinite. It can act independently. It does not require the assistance of any other ingredient. Jiv has infinite power. It does not have any shape. Ajiv generates all material particles such as passions to act as a glue to soul. This process facilitates the interaction of karmic particles to soul and opens the doors for more and more inflow of karmic particles towards soul. This process is like a dam full of water with a tiny hole where it allows little water to flow out initially. With time, hole 121
