________________
Preface
The present volume related to the Jaipur branch contains detailed notices of manuscripts in Sanskrit and Prakrit (Accn. No. 2.78 No. 7118). They cover some 4536 entries.
All these manuscripts have come in donation. Name of the donors include Sarvashri Badri Narayan Photographer (1906 Mss) Ram Kripalu Sharma (1501 Mss.) and Baba Haridas (1 only) of Jaipur. Manuscripts numbering 2506 were donated by the authorities managing the "Shri Jina Dharanendra Suri Baḍā Upāsarā," Jaipur.
In matters of donation it is not the number that counts. What matters more is the realisation of getting them preserved for posterity in a public place. I take this opportunity to thank them all.
Extracts from some interesting manuscripts are given at the end. The catalogue has been prepared jointly by Sarvashri Vinaya Sagar and Jamunalal Baldwa, Senior Research Assistants. Proofreading was done by the late Shri Ramanand Saraswat and Shri Girdhar Ballabh Dadhich to the best of their knowledge and capabilities. Thanks are also due to Shri Onkarlal Menaria, Asstt. Director for his supervision of the cataloguing work, to Messers Himalaya Press and Pankaj Printers, Jodhpur.
For errors and omissions I seek the indulgence of readers.
