Is it not proved by the few years that lie behind us whether, wherever the Society has gone, growth in religion has taken place ? It came to India ; Hinduisin began to revive. It spread to Ceylon; Buddlism słowly began to be vitalised. It spread through Christendom; you find the mystic side returning to Christianity, and reincarnation preached in the pulpits of Christian churches. Wherever it goes, it proves its nature as a nuclens; almost imperceptiblo in its numbers, but how mighty the force, because a mclens is a thing of the life. A melens is only an organ that the life has made for itself. It is nothing but a few scraps of matter arranged in a particular way by the life. The life is everything, and that is the life that all the great Teachers are spreading, through Theosophy, in all the religions of the world. Every great Teacher in turn vivifies His own faith by using this instrument that has been made; and wherever it goes, new life comes, not by the Society, but only thorough it as a channel. And what more? As some have said: Why concern yourselves only with spiritnal matters? Why should mot the Society plmige itself into other matters, into politics, into social reforms and what vot? That is uot its work. Have yon, again, read history so badly? What is the first mark of degeneration of a people. The lessening of spirituality. Ah! my lindu brothers, need I say that to you, who know that
