Palitta (Pädalipta) A preceptor, contemporary of king Murumda(2). When all the physicians failed, Pālitta cured Murumda from a severe headache by the power of mantras. He was master of sciences and performed surprising acts. Once he made an image of the sister of the king and fixed some mechanical devices to it. That doll walked, winked and waved the fan. The king was astonished to see it. Pālitta is said to have composed Kālajñāna" and a commentary on Jyotisakarandaka.
