ultimate Nothing. It is on the Path of the Naught I am going towards the goal of Everything. I have come to realise that Touchlessness escapes to take cowardly shelter in all tcuch; Invisibility hides its identity in all visibility; the fragrance of the Eternal in the petty little perfumes of the ephemeral. I am the ultimate Signature in the scroll of the destiny of men; the last irrevocable Seal on the document of time.
SOM (who has been following Mahavir) Master !
(Mahavir does not hear)
Master ! (Mahavir still does not hear) Master !
MAHAVIR (turning round discovers Som) And who may you be; and why do you follow me so ?
SOM (saluting him with deep adoration) I am but one shadow of You who are the Light; all men are your shadows: what can they do other than follow, follow you?
MAHAVIR
True Light casts no shadow.
