________________ Dr. NARAYAN KANSARA, the editor and commentator, is currently the Director of the Akshardham Centre for Applied Research in Social Harmony, Gandhinagar Gujarat. He was formerly Professor of Sanskrit at the Gujarat College, Ahmedabad, in the Gujarat Education Service. He has taught post-graduate students for thirty-four years, and guided several Ph.D. students. Some of his typical publications in Gujarati include Vaidika Ganita Vidya, Vaidika Bhugarbhajala-vidya, Vaidika Khagolavidya, Sanskrta Sarala Prabodh, (now available on internet in English as the Master Sanskrit Easily), Paniniya Laghu Candrika. Rgueda Adhyayana Pravesika, Bharatiya Sahitya Vicara Manjusa, the Bhojadeva-viracitam Sarasvatikanthabharana-vaidika-vyakaranam, and Merutunga-balabodha-vyakaranam. Among his works in English the most notable is the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry in the Vedas, and his contributions on various topics of the Encyclopedia of Hindu Religion and Indic Religions. He has also edited critically many other works including the classical prose-romance Tilakamanjari of Kavi Dhanapala.
