or loss prevailing practice of doing this."27 Wittgenstein in the Investigatiosn, no doubt, maintains that word; are only the tools and they cannot be said to be the picture of reality, however, he cannot differ from the Jaina view that of the multiple uses, denoting is also one of the functions of language, like Wittgenstein, the Jaina Logicians also believe that there is no one-one-relation between language and reality and following Anekantavāda they maintain that language his numerous functions; the same word may have different functions and meaning in different uses, but they do not doubt the capacity of words to denote facts. For that will make all linguistic conventions unintelligible. It seems that the Analysts have fallen in the trap of linguistic solipcism because they have displaced language completely from the realm of reality, as we find Wittgenstein saying, “The limits of my language mean limits of my word.”28 But the Jainas have avoided this fallacy of linguistic solipcism by maintaining picturing to be one of the functions of language despite their refusal of the denoti ve theory of meaning.

JAINISM: A UNIQUE RELIGION
Jainism is really a unique religion in as much as it preaches that all living bəing; should be protdcted and Ahimsa should be practised in every day life. The Jains are very particular that no injury in done for any orm of life when they eat, drink or walk or do any other action. This kind of mercy:we do not see in any other religion.
