PREFACE
In this little treatise an attempt has been made to give an account of the life and teachings of Mahāvira, the last Tirthankara of the Jains, from the original Buddhist and Jain texts. A comparative study of both the texts helps us greatly in elucidating some knotty points of his life and doctrine. We think that it will be found useful by all persons interested in the study of Jainism.
