________________ (PROLOGUE आग्रही बत निनीषति युक्तिं, तत्र यत्र मतिरस्य निविष्टा । पक्षपातरहितस्य तु युक्तियत्र तत्र मतिरेति निवेशम्।। Truth is like a cow. Instead of following this cow, some people try to pull the cow towards them. This is nothing but obstinacy. It is not a sincere urge to uphold truth, but to damage truth. A gentleman was once trying to fit an antique picture into a beautiful frame. However, he does not succeed. What could be the reason? There are two possibilities; either the frame was small for the picture or the picture was bigger than the frame. To fit the picture in the frame that person would arrange for a new frame of fitting size. He will not cut the picture to make it fit in his original frame. The elements of religion and culture are like this antique picture. The \frame' in the above example is the intellect which has grown on feeding of dairy milk and under the modern secular education. Some eternal truths are not understood on the touch stone of logic and they are foolishly challenged. In such a situation, instead of cutting the antique picture, one must create a fitting frame. When buddhi follows truth it becomes sadbuddhi. Truth should not be compelled to follow buddhi. A person settled with great hopes and aspirations in America. After his stay of two and half decades, he decided to come back to India. After returning to his native country and settling down in his old original house, he wrote a book sharing his experience of <Lighthouse ( 99 )
