________________ USING RELIGION AS A TEACHING AID Language teaching has always been regarded as a tough job. Realizing thus, Jain ancestors have devised ingenions teaching aids: alphabet letters to the lisping child. One such device uses verse from the sacred Nammokkara Mantra. The slate in the picture is 150 years old. It was discovered in Rajasthan, India. It is a slate with the words 'Om Namah Siddham' followed by the letters of the Prakrit alphabet in their syllabic and non-syllabic forms inscribed. It is indeed a novel teaching and meant to introduce the young minds to the mysteries of both religion and learning. ucundaa: 124715596 Razlog1910S1 DOSTUiolicahcu1716Dalu फलमावरलागासहाबदा JOITTUI DICHIDE Milcidilga chodilochil Om namah Siddham la da i ii uuu !
