________________ CHAPTER XV The Riddle of World peace-western 'idea of Asiatics When can the world peace be really Achieved? At present everybody's attention though in appearence is diverted towards peace All are agreed that this is a very crucial problem, which dominates all others. In fact desire for world peace has never before been so sky rocketed among the common people as it is to day, yet the same common people have lost all charms of peace due to the way in which their politicians and statesmen are heading for it It is for certain that repeated wars and post-war behaviour of the different nations have given rise to incredulities as to the sincenty of any of them in respect of their aim for peace. This falls true as people hoped for happiness after the first world war through League of Nations but their hopes remained hopes and the problems plagued since 1914 turned out to be more complicated and the second world war dawned. Out of the last war everyone hoped for some kind of peace, but to the surprise of everyone war's aftermath brought only the beginning of a new pattern, not of peace but of power. In short, world lay crippled in fragments and was farther than ever from finding its way to anything concrete for the DESIDERATUM of peace.
