________________ MONUMENTS & SCULPTURE A.D. 600 TO 1000 [PART IV of a few temples like Temples 11, 12 and 28, all of them are structurally unpretentious and small in size. They are either square or rectangular on plan and comprise a hall with or without a projecting cella at the back but normally containing a frontal verandah or portico. Mostly they have flat roofs and in some cases have crowning kiosks. While Temples 25 to 31 are situated in a close cluster, the remaining ones constitute a loose nebulous group, from which Temples 1, 2 and 10 are each scattered at some distance. To the ninth century belong Temples 12 and 15 and seven smaller shrines clustering around Temple 12, besides Temple 22 and 24(a).
