________________ Vikash Hirawat, IX-C is the duty of every citizen of the country to co-operate with them. The students and teachers have special role to play in this tirade against the drug abuse. It needs no mention that the addiction of drugs makes our life miserable. It is certainly detrimental to the physical, mental and spiritual development of a person. It is the need of the hour to nip this malady in the bud. Concerted efforts should be made to make the younger generation aware of the evils of drug addiction, otherwise the social life is bound to be vitiated. If we go through the columns of the news papers, we come across the reports of the drug addicts stealing money and valuables from houses. Addicted youths suffer so much from mental and moral degeneration that they even commit suicide. What a pity, what a misfortune for the families they belong too! We must remember that it is now or never. If we are not serious in our effeorts the very foundation of our social, political and moral life will badly be shaken. What happened to China before 1950? There was lethargy, indolence and inactivity in that country owing to the absuse of drugs particularly, opium. DANGER OF DRUG ADDICTION Let us hope, India will not face that misfortune and our efforts to do away with the drug malady will succeed. The unscrupulous dealers in drugs find it easier to sell drugs in the vicinity of schools and colleges. The students, being inexperienced, easily fall a prey to drug addiction. Any effort to save students from this fast spreading disease is the need of the hour. The danger of drug-abuse looms large on the Indian Horizon these days.
