________________ Opinion of Digambaras about knowers of ten prior canons (Da aP rvadhara) The span of time from nirva of Lord Mah v ra to 62 years is considered as Keval era by some of the acclaimed scriptures of Digambara sect, whereas some extend it up to 64 years. After the stipulated omniscient - Indrabh ti, Sudharm and Jamb Sw m, even the Digambara sect named five rutakeval s, who were scholars in Dw da mg and the fourteen P rvas. However there are minor differences in the names and their tenure between both the schools. As far as the fifth rutakeval, crya Bhadrab hu is considered both of the schools have a unanimous opinion. vet mbara school of thought mentioned the names of rya Prabhava, rya ayyambhava, rya Ya obhadra, rya Sambh tavijaya and rya Bhadrab hu as rutakeval s and expressed their total tenure as 106 years, whereas Digambara school of thought gives out the names of Vi u, Nandimitra, Apar jita, Govardhana and Bhadrab hu as rutakeval s and their total tenure as 100 years. The introduction of the ten P rvadharas as per vet mbara sect is already given. Keval era extends to 64 years, rutakeval era 106 years and Da aPrvadhara era for 414 years; altogether the aggregate years are 584. Thus according to the vet mbara School, the knowledge of the ten P rvas lasted up to 584 years. But according to Digambara sect, Keval era stretched for 62 years, rutakeval era for 100 years and Da aPrvadhara era for 183 years. Thus according to them, the knowledge of the ten P rvas lasted up to V.N. 345 only. The list of the ten P rvadharas, according to Digambara School is as follows: 1Vi kh c rya 2 Pro hila 3 K atriya 4 Jaya 5 N gasena 6 Siddh rtha 7 Dh ti e a 8 Vijaya 9 Buddhila 10 Gamgadeva 11 Dharmasena c rya Gu abhadra describes these eleven c ryas as scholars and also as Da aP rvadharas and an expert of the twelve Amgas. 264
