________________ JULY, 1969 As a matter of fact, the dual characteristic of soul is based on the standpoint of non-absolutism which is ignored by the Buddhist philosophers. The views of the Jainas against these objections have been discussed in my article "Anekantavada and Bhuddhist Philosophers" published in the Vidarbha Samsodhana Mandala Vārşika Patrikā, 1966. I do not therefore want to repeat them here. But I need emphasize that there is no self-contradiction in the dual characteristic of the soul provided we conceive the problem through non-absolutistic standpoint (anekāntavāda).
