APRIL, 1906. VOL. III. No. 1. . Notes and News. WE E are glad to announce that Mr. Jagmandar Lall Jaini, M. A., sailed for England on the 31st March by the P. and O. SS. Persia. From the various notes that from time to time appeared in this journal our readers might have in Gone to England ferred that the Editor had taken a fancy for that land. It is a matter of special pride and satisfaction to us that an earnest craving for knowledge and not a love of travel has made him leave his home. His stay with the European scholars whom he admires so much and rightly too, will greatly react upon his scholarly habits and on his return we are sure to find him better fitted to serve his beloved community. The good work that Mr. Jaini has already done for the Association can not be praised too much and his absence will be greatly felt by us. It is very sad that some of the England-returned men have so much prejudiced the unthinking public towards foreign travel, that we fear Mr. Jaini too might not be looked upon with the same suspicion and supposed to be lost to the community for ever, but we assure them that the thought of his religion and community is and shall ever be the uppermost in his mind and the fact that he has not severed his connections from the paper, he so ably edited for the last two years, amply justifies our remark.
