About the Authors
Dr. Rudi Jansma has studied neotropical ecology in The Netherlands and South America, but later specialized in intercultural philosophy relating to the attitude towards nature and views on ecology and evolution with several nonwestern cultures. He now resides in India where he is in close contact with the Jain community. Though a westerner, his lifestyle is almost Jain.
Brahmacharini Dr. Sneh Rani Jain was active for decades as lecturer in pharmacy and microbiology at the University of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. She also became a scholar in Digambara Jain literature. Later she specialized in Jain archaeology and art, and became the first person to decipher the Indus script from a Jain point of view.
