________________ IMPRESSIONS A Authors' notes TRENT! ! Mr Virchand Gandhi had an opportunity to stay in America for pretty long time. Soon after his popularity in the Parliament of World religions, he was invited to speak on various subjects mainly on Indian traditions, religions and Jainism. He had close exposure to various American families of various strata. His curious and analytical nature was quick to recognise the various aspects of American life in depth. He had close observations of family, social, political and business life of that country. ** * ******* ** * In this presentation, he describes his impressions about the hospitality of Americans, their education system, material richness, industrialization, family structure and lastly the state of religions in America. Most of the readers after reading this paper would agree with us that the perceptions of Mr Virchand Gandhi of that time and the present impressions of America are same. It seems surprising but true. Mr Virchand Gandhi was bold enough and frank enough to express what he learnt and observed. His views are totally honest and unbiased. *
