It is essential that in schools and colleges, lectures are given by great teachers of the institution once a week for one hour on civilizational heritage and derived value system. Text books like Jeevan Vigyan by Acharya Mahapragya could give model lessons on values. This moral science class will elevate young minds to love the country, love other human beings and elevate them to higher planes. The results of the analysis of the book Five Minds for the Future by Howard Gardner, in our opinion, reveals the five capacities to be built in the learning process of the young: 1. Disciplinary mind: Disciplinary minds require mastery of major schools of thought, which may include science, mathematics, history and religion. Apart from this, the disciplinary mind has to be enriched with expertise in at least one professional field. Research confirms that it takes up to ten years to master a discipline. This mind also knows how to work steadily over time to improve skill and understanding. 2. Synthesizing mind: This refers to the ability to integrate ideas from different disciplines or spheres into an integrated system and communicate the synthesized thoughts. With the increasing volume of information in the present-day world, capacity to synthesize assumes great importance. 3. Creative mind: It is essential to build the capacity to uncover and create solutions for new problems, questions and phenomena. For examples on creativity, we look for leaders rather than managers. The creative mind puts forth new ideas, poses familiar questions and arrives at unprecedented answers.
