contradiction between them. Faith is a leader, thought is it's ardent follower and devotee. Hence have а firm and undeviating faith in that is to be sought and attained. This is the first step. Once firm faith is achieved, the out drawing mind stops there withot any distraction
and without being any obstacle in the way; and within no time the aspirant becomes disinterested in deceiving world and stays still and uumoved in his soul.
Behaviour is to be based upon firm faith.
यत्राना हितधीः पुंसः श्रद्धा तस्मात् निवर्तते । यस्मात् निवर्तते श्रद्धा कुतश्चित्तस्य तल्लयः ॥ ९६ ॥
In this verse, it is advised that to keep away from the temptations we should lessen Our intense attachment for the external objects and subjects. When we are free from the attachment our tendencies go on dissolving automatically. In dissolving onr interests and attachments, is our real courage, the Purusharth.
