With these thoughts Acharyashri said Son! An ascetic cannot give the alms he got from an householder to another one.

O kind one! I am dying with hunger. Is it not your duty to save a dying person?

Acharyashri at once initiated that beggar and gave him the ascetic-garb
Man! If you become an ascetic you can eat as much as you like. Only an ascetic can eat the food put into these alms-pots.
Come in, now you may eat as much as you like.
After that, Acharyashri presented the new ascetic before the congregation and said
The newly initiated hungry ascetic gobbled up the rich food.

I am ready. Please initiate me. On becoming an ascetic I will do as you say.
