The existing Jain Bhavan, inaugurated in July 1988, will be re-developed into a multipurpose Jain Bhavan Complex with elements of grace and beauty of traditional Jain heritage. The state-of-the-art facility, to be constructed in three phases, will include a Derasar, swadhyay rooms, Pathshala classrooms, and a spacious auditorium, and will also accommodate a priceless wooden replica of the famous Palitana Jain Temple, a museum, and the JAINA National Library.
A major milestone for the Jain Bhavan Expansion Project was achieved on Monday, February 18, 2002 when Shashi and Renuka Jogani, Nilesh and Krina Shah, and Rajesh and Neeta Shah performed the Bhoomi Pujan in the presence of several distinguished guests including Mayor Patsy Marshall, Council Members, and Planning Commission Members of the City of Buena Park. Shri Chandrakant Mehta of New Jersey directed the ceremonies. Construction of Phase I is scheduled to begin in July 2002.
