He had attachment with Mallikumāri because of previous birth's friendship. Moreover when he heard praise of her beauty, he sent his envoy to Mithila with proposal of marriage.
The soul of second friend Dharan became King Chandrachhay at Champapuri in this birth. In that city noble Shravak named Arhannay was living. Indra Mahārājā applauded Arhannay in his conference. The deities were tempted to test him. At that time Arhannay was sailing in a boat and suddenly boat started sinking. Firm Arhannay accepted Anashan. The deity became glad and gifted him two pair of ear-rings.
Arhannay Shravak came to Mithila. He gifted one pair of earrings to King Kumbh. King gave those ear-rings to Malli. Arhannay was dazed when he saw Mallikumāri. He returned back to Champapuri and gifted other pair of ear-rings to King Chandrachhay. King asked him about the whole story...while answering he also described the beauty of Mallikumāri. King Chandrachhay also sent his envoy to Mithila with marriage proposal.
Third friend Puran became King Rukim at Shravasti in this birth. He had pretty wife named Dhāriņi and he had gorgeous daughter called Subāhu.
Looking at the beauty of Subahu King asked one servant, who other girl in the world will be the beautiful like my daughter?
