Animal Based Additives to Avoid Calcium Stearates: Stearates most often refer to a fatty substance taken from the stomachs of pigs. It acts as an emulsifier, also found in the form of sodium sterile lactylate and stearic acid.
Lactic Acid:
Lactic Acid is a byproduct of the slaughter-house. Red Dye, Cochineal: 70,000 beetles are killed to produce one pound of this red dye.
Rennet:
Animal rennet is used in the production of most cheeses. The mammal's digestive system must be accessed to obtain its rennet.
Indeed, rennet is extracted from the lining of the inside of the stomach of mammals, and most commonly from the fourth stomach of young calves. Rennet contains enzymes that cause milk to become cheese, by separating it into the solid curds and the liquid whey. Different animal rennet is used as well to create other types of cheese. For vegetarians, vegetable rennet is made from certain vegetables that have coagulation properties as well. Thistle is the most common form.

Gelatin is a yellowish, odorless, and nearly tasteless substance that is made by prolonged boiling of skin, cartilage, and bones from animals. It's made primarily from the stuff meat industries have left over — we're talking about pork skins, horns, and cattle bones.
Glycerol Monostearate: Glycerol Monostearate is used as an emulsifier. It is hydrolyzed protein often of animal origin.
