________________ L IS FOR LESHYÄ See how differently the six friends thought? The first one wanted to destroy the whole tree while the sixth one did not want to hurt the tree at all. You can see how differently people can think. The way the sixth man thought was the best way and the way the first man thought was the worst way. There are six Leshyäs, which describe the way people think in this story. First Leshyä is called the Black (Krishna) Leshyä (worst Leshyä) Second Leshyä is called the Blue (Neel) Leshyä Third Leshyä is called the Gray (Kapot) Leshyä Fourth Leshyä is called the Red (Tejo) Leshyä Fifth Leshyä is called the Yellow (Padma) Leshyä Sixth Leshyä is called the White (Shukla) Leshyä (best Leshyä) Our thoughts change all the time and so will our Leshyä. We should always strive to think like the sixth man did. This will happen when we lessen our needs and wants, and when we think of others first instead of just ourselves. • · Note: L is also for Liberation and Love 44 Jain Education International JAIN ALPHABET BOOK For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
