Nothing is known about the personal history of the said Shivasharma Soori as is generally the case with almost all sain authors who flourished before the period. There is a general dearth of information on the subject as people in those days appear to have cared very little for their personality. Unfortunately the history of the period of about 980 years after the Nirvana of Lord Mahavira is still to be unearthed but in the present state of ignorance on the subject nothing can be definitely said on the subject. The after-history can be found out and there are ample materials for the same, but as far as the history of the period under consideration is concerned, inquiry has to be pursued with the help of coins, writings, manuscripts &c.

The present publication contains a very exhaustive commentary in sanskrit upon Kammapayadi by Malayagiri, a commentator of vast resources and a thorough grasp of the subject.
