________________ Sheth Devchand Lalbhai Jain Pustakoddhâr Fund Series, No. 21. PREFACE. The book entitled "Shri Upadesha Ratnakara" is composed and commented upon by Sahastråvadhani Shriman Muni Sundara Suri, who belonged to the Tapa Gachha. He was honored with the titles of "Bala Sarasvati" and "Vadi Gokulashandha ". He was 51st in descent from Lord Mahavira. Jain Education InL This work having been revised by Pundit Amritlal Amarchand, an ex-student of Shri Yashovijayji Jain Pathashala, Benâres is laid before the public by us as "Vol. No. 21" of our series. This work deals with the manner and method of imparting religious teaching. It describes the temper of mind of persons fit and unfit to imbibe the spirit of such a teaching, as well as the qualifications of a true Guru. The treatment of the subject in the book is very systematic and highly edifying. The arrangement of this work differs from that of Adhyatmakalpadruma in that it deals with the topics in many forms to suit different readers, and is highly illustrative. The language of this is metaphorical, and expounds its subject quite in a practical way. For Private & Personal Use Only jainelibrary.org
