२. उस काल और उस समय में श्रमण भगवान् महावीर जब ग्रीष्मकाल का चतुर्थ मास, प्राठवां पक्ष आषाढ़ शुक्ल चल रहा था, तब उस प्राषाढ़ शुक्ल की छठ के दिन महाविजय पुष्पोत्तर प्रवर पुण्डरीक दिशासौवस्तिक वर्धमान नामक महाविमान से
ultimate, infinite, unimpeded, unclouded, total and all-embracing. He attained parinirvana during the sväti constellation.
2. In those times, in those days, eight summer fortnights had passed and it was the fourth month of summer, the month of Aşadha, when on the sixth day of the bright half (śukla-paksa) of this month the Śramana Bhagvan Mahavira descended from the great celestial abode called the Mahāvijayapuspottara-pravara-pundarika-disa - sauvastikavardhamanaka. He had lived there for a period of twenty Sagaropamas. His time there had now run its full course and he descended to this land of Bharata situated in Jambudvipa.
