नौ मास और साढ़े सात अहोरात्र व्यतीत होने पर, यावत् उत्तराषाढ़ा नक्षत्र का योग ग्राने पर, प्रारोग्यवती माता मरुदेवी ने स्वस्थ पुत्र को जन्म दिया।
यहां जन्म सम्बन्धी समग्र कथन, यावत् देव और देवियों को आना, धनवृष्टि करना प्रादि शेष पूर्व कथित वर्णन के समान ही कहना चाहिए। किन्तु बन्दीमोचन, पदार्थों का मान उन्मान बढ़ाना, कर छोड़ देना, कुल की मर्यादानुसार जन्मोत्सव करना यादि वर्णन जो पूर्वपाठ में पाए हैं उन्हें यह नहीं कहना चाहिए।
