beginning from Palaka Dynasty ruled, I am inclined to think that Naravahana while ruling at Broach hela Vijayani also under his sway. His successor Gardabhilla also is said to have ruled for 13 years at Ujjayani. The infenence therfore that Naravahana did rule at Ujjayani becomes stronger. The Prabhavaka Charitra has apparently confounded Bala Mitra and Bhanu Mitra the former rulers with the later Naravahana & while narrating the Broach siege. The earlier Prakrit Padlipta Prabandha and Kathawali may be relied on in this respect in preference to the later Prabhavaka Charitra. The two versions do not differ in other respects. Kathavali gives a shorter and slightly different version from the other two works,

I may now refer to the passage at page 149 of Anuyoga-dwara Sutra. In the Mula Sutra there occurs the passage which mentions Tarangavai-kkare Malayavai-kkare. The reference to Taranga-1% vaikkara is decidedly to the author of the present work Padalipta Suri who composed the famous novel "Tarangvati" already referred to. In the preface of the Gatha Sapta Shati (Nirnaya-sagara Edition)
