introduced in India, it is quite probable that the mention of Zodiacal signs in this work instead of proving the work to be later in date proves that the Zodiacal signs were introduced earlier. This is so because the | date of the work is 1st century of Vikram era both from internal as well as external evidence. We have 8 already mentioned the ancient current of thought in this work. Metrically also the Gathas cited here lead
us to the same conclusion. Externally the author of the work will be shown to have flourished in the 1st century of Vikrama Era.
