स्वभावो दुरतिक्रमः
पण मुह पर्याड अभव्यो सुदु वि आयण्णिऊण जिणधम्मं गुड दुद्धं पि पिता ण पण्णवा णिव्विसा होति ॥ १३८ ॥

अभव्य जीव का स्वभाव बताते हुए आचार्य कुन्दकुन्द स्वामी लिखते हैं कि- जो अभव्य जीव होता है वह कभी भी अपने स्वभाव को नहीं छोड़ता है, उसको कितना भी जिनवाणी का श्रवण कराया जाय परन्तु उसके स्वभाव में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं आता है। जिस प्रकार सर्प को गुड़ सहित मधुर दूध भी पिलाया जाय तब भी वह विष रहित नहीं हो पाता है। कहा भी है " स्वभावो दुरतिक्रमः” ।
