Who can be called True God'? What should be His typical features? Nirgrantha Agamas [Jaina Shashtras,-scriptures dictated by Nirgranthas, i. e. persons who have got mastery over Karmas (4), annihilated them, are thus 'Omniscient' and free for ever from the trammels of mundane existence,] give the concise features of sad-deva as follows:
Those who develop and accomplish (4) Kaivalya Gnâna and (4) Kaivalya Darshana i. e. infinite Right Knowledge and infinite Right Perception; those who melt and burn down by severe austerities and meditation the vast accumulations of Karmas reaped during innumerable births; those who have reached (7) Shukla Dhyâna i. e the highest sort of meditation pure, white and shining like the moon and conch; those who, though they be chakravartees i. e. paramount ruling powers or chiefs over nations cr princes born with silver spoon in their mouths, renounce the world believing it to be nothing but the source of incessant griefs those who cool down the three-fold heat, viz. Adhi, Vyâdhi, and Upâdhi mental, physical and social sorrows of the; animate creation.]; by mercy, compassion, charity, peace, forbearance, equanimity, freedom from love and hatred, and self-power; those who have burnt down he four principal Karmas domineering over (IT) sansâra-[the world] the unfailing cause of births, deaths, griefs and sorrows i. e.
