That your -Excellency's Memorialists are members of the two Associations and the conference abovenamed. The “Jain Graduates' Association” consists of the graduates of the different Universities of India who belong to the Swetamber Jain community, and the "Jain Young Men's Association of India” consists of educated members of all the Jain sects such as the Swetambers, the Digambers and the Sthanakwasis, and the “Sthanakwasi Jain Conference represents the Sthanakwasi Swetamber Jains. .
.. 2: 2. Your Excellency's Memorialists. beg on behalf of their community to tender their best thanks to your Excellency's Government for the scheme of reforms in the system of representation to the Provincial and Supreme Legislative Councils which has now been finally sanctioned.
3. Your Excellency's Memorialists are sure that this step of the Government whereby the educated section of the Indian communities will be afforded an opportunity of taking a larger share in the administration of their country's affairs, will promote the loyalty of the ruled towards the rulers and your Excellency's Viceroyalty will be ever gratefully remembered by the people of this country for this act of wise and broadminded statesmanship.
4. Your Excellency's Memorialists have no doubt also that those of their countrymen who will be called upon to serve in the expanded councils, will, one and all, discharge their functions with the consciousness of a duty they owe to their country to assist the government in the management of their country's affairs and not with the idea of enjoying merely a right which has been bestowed upon them by a beneficent Government.
